Online Testimony of David Campbell

Hi there, I just want to share a little about myself. That’s me on the right (grin) with my beautiful wife, Pauli. I worked as a web developer and designer for Ark Web Design – Christian Hosting, but have now retired. I’m also the webmaster for several Christian websites. I serve as an online evangelist, and if you ever want to know more about having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, contact me Click Here.

Below is my story—my testimony. As you’ll see, I didn’t always know Jesus, but I’m so thankful for those who prayed for me and shared the gospel with me.

About

My Story

A Prodigal’s Return

My name is David Campbell. I was born on April 25, 1959, and I was born again on April 23, 1972. I grew up going to church and gave my life to Jesus at 13 years old. But as I got older, I began to drift away from God.

At 17, I started partying with friends. By 18, I had moved out of my parents’ house because of my wild behavior. Hoping to change, I joined the Army—but that only made things worse. My partying escalated, and after three years of service, I got out and moved back home. But I kept running from God—literally. I’d sneak out the back door when preachers came through the front.

I convinced myself that the church was full of hypocrites and wanted nothing to do with it. Eventually, I was arrested for DUI and spent three days in jail. I caused my parents a lot of pain, and I was living a life that was far from what God wanted for me.

But I don’t want to dwell on the bad—I want to tell you what God has done in my life.

My mother is a strong Christian woman who never stopped praying for me. At age 26, I hit rock bottom. I knew about Jesus, but I didn’t want to follow Him. I thought being a Christian meant giving up all the “fun.” But God brought several real, loving Christian men into my life—and I saw something different in them. Their joy, love, and peace were genuine. It wasn’t just talk—it was real.

At that time, I was living alone in a small apartment. One night, I knelt by my bed and prayed. I told God I wanted my life to change. I asked Him to forgive me and help me live a life that pleased Him. I knew I couldn’t do it on my own.

In November 1985, I rededicated my life to Jesus Christ. I went to church and shared my decision publicly. I also chose to be baptized again—not because my first baptism didn’t count, but because I wanted to make sure I was doing it for the right reason. Since then, God has been changing my life through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

A New Life in Christ

Life is good now, knowing I’m saved by God’s grace and the blood of Jesus. I still mess up, and the old me tries to show up now and then—but I know Jesus has forgiven my past, present, and future sins. I’m not perfect, and I won’t be until I’m with Him in heaven. But I’m growing, and I try to spend as much time with God as I can—because the more time you spend with someone, the more you become like them.

I’m filled with excitement and joy, knowing I’ll spend eternity with Jesus—the One who gave His life for me. The hope of His return keeps me encouraged every day.

I’ve been married to my wonderful wife, Pauli, since December 5, 1986. We have two amazing children—our daughter, Carla, and our son, Caleb. I thank God daily for blessing me with such a loving family.

Thank you for taking the time to read my testimony. If you’re searching, struggling, or just curious—please know that God loves you, and He can change your life too.

With love in Christ,
David Campbell
A Prodigal Returned

I thank him who has given me strength, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he judged me faithful, appointing me to his service, though formerly I was a blasphemer, persecutor, and insolent opponent. But I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly in unbelief, and the grace of our Lord overflowed for me with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost. But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life.  ~ 1 Timothy 1:12-16
