Using the New World Translation (NWT) to defend a biblical theological point is useless because it is rooted in false teaching rather than the true Word of God. A translation that deliberately alters Scripture to fit a specific doctrinal agenda cannot be used as a reliable foundation for truth. The Bible warns against distorting God’s Word (Galatians 1:8-9, 2 Peter 3:16, Revelation 22:18-19), and because the NWT intentionally mistranslates key passages—particularly regarding the deity of Christ, the nature of God, and salvation—it is a corrupt source that leads people away from biblical truth.
False teaching is dangerous because it deceives people into believing a distorted gospel (2 Corinthians 11:3-4), and the NWT is designed to support the doctrines of the Jehovah’s Witnesses rather than faithfully convey what God originally inspired. When someone uses a false translation to argue for their beliefs, they are already standing on a foundation of error, which renders their argument invalid. Just as a counterfeit currency has no real value, a corrupt version of the Bible carries no weight in defending biblical truth. True doctrine must be built on the unchanging and faithfully preserved Word of God (Isaiah 40:8, 2 Timothy 3:16-17), not on a text that has been manipulated to support false teachings.
